About the Role

The Digital Platforms and IT Officer will lead the management, optimisation, and reliability of all KEREA digital systems. This includes the USSD and digital marketplace platform, the complaints dashboard, the member portal (in development), the CRM embedded in the website, and all organisation-wide IT systems.

The role ensures seamless user experiences for members, installers, suppliers, financiers, and consumers; drives data integrity and digital innovation; and strengthens KEREA’s mission to professionalise and digitise Kenya’s renewable energy ecosystem.

This position is central to advancing operational excellence, improving member services, and supporting strategic projects and other digital transformation initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing and optimizing digital platforms and IT systems.
  • Strong understanding of CRM systems, preferably with experience in website-embedded CRMs.
  • Experience with USSD technology and digital marketplace platforms.
  • Ability to ensure data integrity and drive digital innovation within an organization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to enhance user experiences across various digital interfaces.
  • Familiarity with the renewable energy sector, particularly within Kenya or similar markets.
  • Strong project management skills to support strategic projects and digital transformation initiatives.
  • 'Competency in leading IT teams or working collaboratively across departments to achieve organizational goals.'

The Kenya Renewable Energy Association (KEREA) is the umbrella body for the renewable energy sector in Kenya. Established to promote the sustainable development of renewable energy, KEREA brings together stakeholders across solar, wind, hydro, biomass, and other clean energy technologies.

Our mission is to advance access to clean, reliable, and affordable energy through policy advocacy, capacity building, quality assurance, and promoting innovative financing.
