About Intelng

‎1 Intel Corporation is the world's largest semiconductor company. Intel was the first company to begin producing microprocessors. Today, more and more computer companies use Intel chips. Intel Corporation is an American multinational corporation and technology company headquartered in Santa Clara, Silicon Valley, California. It is the second-largest semiconductor chip manufacturer in the world and the second largest in terms of revenue.

‎2 Intel supplies processors to computer system manufacturers such as Apple, Lenovo, HP, and Dell. Intel also manufactures motherboard chipsets, network interface controllers and integrated circuits, flash memory, graphics chips, integrated processors, and other communications and computing-related equipment.

‎3 Intel Corporation was founded on July 18, 1968, by semiconductor pioneers Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore (Moore's Law), with Andrew Grove as its executive leader and visionary. The company's name is believed to be a combination of the words "Integrated" and "Electronics," as co-founder Noyce was the principal inventor of the integrated circuit (microchip). In fact, "Intel" stands for intelligence, making the name quite fitting. Intel was one of the first developers of SRAM and DRAM memory chips, which remained a major part of its business until 1981. Although Intel created the world's first commercial
‎microprocessor chip in 1971, this remained its core business until the success of the personal computer (PC).

‎In the 1990s, Intel invested heavily in new microprocessor designs, fueling rapid growth in the computer industry. During this period, Intel became the dominant supplier of PC microprocessors and became known for aggressive, anti-competitive tactics to defend its market position, particularly against Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), and to control the direction of its competition with Microsoft in the PC industry.

‎5 Intel's Open Source Technology Center houses PowerTop and LatencyTop and supports other open source projects such as Wayland, Mesa 3D, Intel Array Building Blocks, Threading Building Blocks (TBB), and Xen.

‎1. Educational technology and digital skills training

‎Hardware support and teacher training: As early as 2007, Intel launched the "Classmate PC" project to provide Nigerian schools with computer equipment pre-installed with educational software, and achieved remarkable results in pilot schools.

‎Subsequent plans include donating 3,000 computers and training 150,000 teachers through the "Intel Future Education Program" to help them integrate information technology into teaching. In 2012, Intel launched ICT education activities in girls' schools in Lagos, inviting local female technology leaders to participate and promote the development of women in the field of science and technology.
‎Al education cooperation: In 2024, Intel and the Nigerian federal government will cooperate to launch a free Al training program covering artificial intelligence basics, ethics, tool applications and other content.

‎Participants will have the opportunity to obtain Intel internship opportunities, aiming to improve national digital skills and promote the development of the country's digital economy.

‎2. Enterprise solutions and cloud computing Cloud services support SMEs:

‎In 2016, Intel cooperated with local communications company MainOne and domain name service provider Whogohost to provide cloud hosting services based on Intel cloud processors to Nigerian SMEs through MainOne's data center, lowering the threshold for enterprise digitalization.

‎Hardware equipment supply: Intel provides commercial terminal equipment to the Nigerian market through partners, such as the super thin client TS660 7th generation equipped with the 13th generation Core processor, to support efficient office work for enterprises.

‎3. Technology promotion and marketing activities

‎Retail tour and brand marketing: In 2016, Intel, together with partners such as HP and Lenovo, carried out retail tours in Benin, Ibadan and other places to showcase the latest PC technology and give away equipment to consumers to enhance market awareness. In 2023, Intel launched an EVO platform influencer marketing campaign for entrepreneurs and professionals, covering more than 6.7 million exposures through social media to enhance brand influence. Developer and startup support: In 2024, Intel will cooperate with AfriLabs, the largest technology startup network in Africa, to hold an Al technology event in Abuja, provide Al tool training and entrepreneurial community building guidance for deep technology startups, and promote the implementation of Intel's "Liftoff for Startups" and other programs to help the development of the local innovation ecosystem

‎4. Partners and ecosystem construction Local enterprise cooperation:

‎Intel cooperates with local manufacturers such as Zinox Technologies to provide students with computers pre-installed with Intel processors and Microsoft systems at preferential prices through the "Z-SCOP" program to promote the popularization of educational informatization. Government and international organization collaboration: Intel participates in the digital skills training project led by the Nigerian government, and supports African countries through the "Community Impact Program" (CRP) to use Al and broadband technology to solve social problems such as education and medical care. Nigeria may benefit from relevant resources and technical support.

‎5. Internet of Things and Smart City Exploration

‎Potential areas of technology empowerment: Although there are no direct cases, Intel's globally promoted technologies such as intelligent edge computing and industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) (such as edge devices that support 5G and Al) may be indirectly applied to energy management, traffic monitoring and other fields in Nigeria through partners to help build smart cities.
